A 9-hole, 2-hour on course playing lesson. Designed to bridge the gap between the practice range and real-world performance by coaching the player in actual playing conditions. During the lesson, the instructor works with the golfer on course management, shot selection, strategy, and decision-making, while also addressing swing fundamentals as they naturally arise. Emphasis is placed on reading lies, assessing wind and weather, choosing the right club, managing risk, and developing a confident pre-shot routine. By learning in a true on-course environment, the player gains a deeper understanding of how to score better, play smarter, and transfer practice skills directly into lower scores. This playing lesson will contain mini lessons on the course, equipment evaluation, email follow-up, Q&A with the instructor, and advice on how to cut those last few strokes that we are all looking for.

Game Optimization Consultation - 1-hour session conducted in “The Launch Bay”. This is great if you are goal-oriented and metrics-driven. A modern and tech-forward evaluation designed to maximize a player’s performance using advanced indoor launch monitor technology. Through precise data on ball flight, club delivery, and impact conditions, the session identifies strengths, inefficiencies, and performance trends across the bag. This information is then translated into clear, actionable recommendations that optimize equipment, technique, and strategy—providing a smarter, more efficient path to measurable improvement. Players will become familiar with 15 to 20 different shot metrics that impact ball flight, spin and direction. Players can then apply their specific golf swing knowledge to practice more efficiently and use The Launch Bay independently for further practice. This is a great option for better players who love to work on the range, allowing you to self-correct identified issues.

Matt’s passion for golf began at an early age. His father, a teacher, spent summers playing golf with Matt from the time he was just five years old. Those early days on the course sparked a lifelong love for the game that only grew stronger over time.
Matt began his professional journey as an Assistant Golf Professional at Rochester Elks and Indian Oaks in Peru, Indiana. He later joined Iron Horse Golf Club in Logansport, Indiana, where he continued his PGA education and advanced to the role of Golf Professional. Matt spent four years at Iron Horse, a place that became especially meaningful as it is where he met his wife, Stephanie. The two were married during their time there.
Matt later joined Swan Lake Golf Club as an Assistant Professional, where he quickly passed the PGA Playing Ability Test and progressed efficiently through PGA schooling. Over several seasons at Swan Lake, he taught hundreds of lessons at the Swan Lake Learning Center, further establishing himself as a respected instructor. He then accepted the position of Director of Instruction at Coyote Crossing Golf Club in West Lafayette, Indiana. After just one season, Matt was promoted to General Manager, and his daughter Sophia joined him there, working at the club.
Sophia went on to enjoy a highly successful high school golf career, highlighted by qualifying for the IHSAA State Tournament during her senior year. During her college recruiting process, she narrowed her choices to Holy Cross College in South Bend and the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne.
Motivated by the opportunity to remain close to Sophia should she choose Holy Cross, Matt accepted a position at Knollwood. He brings with him a deep passion for the game, decades of experience, and a wealth of knowledge in golf instruction, all rooted in a lifelong love for the sport.
